Walker Co. Sheriff’s Office gets body temperature scanner through CARES Act

WALKER COUNTY, Ala. (WBMA) — The Walker County Sheriff’s Office announced the installation of a new full-body scanner funded through government coronavirus relief efforts.

The sheriff’s office said the scanner will take the temperatures of inmates being booked into the jail.

The scanner will also help with contraband searches of inmates.

The sheriff’s office said the funds were received through the CARES Act.
