CLARK COUNTY, Ind. —
On any given day, up to 40 people are booked at the Clark County Jail. Staff said it is not unusual to discover inmates trying to smuggle in something they shouldn’t.
“Cellphones, charges to cellphones, drugs, even cosmetics for female inmates. We’ve seen it all,” Col. Scottie Maples with the Clark County Sheriff’s Office told WLKY.
It is why the Tek84, the latest in body scan technology, is now in place inside the jail. An inmate enters, a button is pushed and within four seconds, officers are provided an in-depth scan.
